VIDEO: Lesbian teen sues school over prom cancellation
Constance McMillen, a gay student who wanted to take her girlfriend to her senior prom is suing, seeking a court order to force her Mississippi school to hold the senior prom it called off rather than let the gay couple attend.
Meanwhile, New Orleans hotel owner Sean Cummings is offering to take the students to New Orleans by bus, and host a free prom at one of his properties, and an advocacy group for gay students in Mississippi said it has been fielding dozens of other offers from around the nation to hold a prom for students of Itawamba Agricultural High School in Fulton, Miss.
